Management Your Risk

What You Need To Know

Fire Risk Assessments (FRA) are a legal requirement of The Fire Safety Order, and are the key element of self-regulation unless you live in a single domestic property, or your workplace constitutes a mine, borehole, offshore installation, aircraft, ship or forestry undertaking.

Whilst there is no obligation (at this time) to contract a specialist to carry out an FRA, in that you can complete one yourself, it has to be suitable and sufficient in identifying the risks from fire for all ‘relevant persons’, together with an action plan of mitigation.

Therefore, not fully understanding the complexities of fire assessment may lead to incomplete or insufficient assessments being carried out.

A national accredited fire risk assessors register (NAFRAR) has now been devised to offer anyone looking to have a specialist third party competent person to complete their assessment and offer advice.

Here at Prism not only are we listed on that register we are also EXOVA FRACS accredited too. This means we are at the highest level of competency for fire risk assessments in the UK.

Having a competent assessor to complete your assessment allows you the opportunity to be guided and advised in all fire safety matters related to your building or workplace. The FRA is a living document and Prism also provide the support and advice on any remedial works and reviews to deliver a full service.
