What You Need To Know

The requirement of effective fire prevention and mitigation all operatives of waste sites, including those who deal with ‘End of Life Vehicles’, now forms a condition of an ‘Environmental Permit’ to allow businesses within this sector to operate safely.

The rise in fires within such sites has led to an agreement between the Environment Agency and local fire services (who now adopt a ‘controlled burning’ stance, thereby allowing fires to burn under their management) to jointly review operational strategies of local businesses dealing in waste management.

As such, Fire Prevention Plans are now required by the Environment Agency (EA) before any such Environmental Permit is issued.

This is something of a specialist nature for which many local businesses have no real avenue of advice or assistance with completion of such plans.

Prism can offer that advice, guidance and completion of a Fire Prevention Plan, together with local EA liaison, to allow your plan to be submitted and approved.
