Private fire hydrants are located on private water mains that are not the responsibility of the local water company or the Fire and Rescue Service (FRS). They are the responsibility of the owners/occupiers on whose land they are installed and may not be maintained by either the water company or the FRS. If you have private hydrants installed they should be tested and maintained in good working order by the responsible person, especially if they are identified on the local FRS risk information sheets as a reliable water source for firefighting. Prism's overall fire safety knowledge and experience will provide you with the complete confidence that your private hydrants are inspected and maintained to the same standard as local water authority owned fire hydrants and fully compliant with the local FRS equipment.
